About

I was born in Fuerstenfeld, a small province in southern Styria, not far from the Hungarian border. Due to my father's line of work, however, with the age of one, my family relocated to Paris. My childhood and teenage years were spent in France and Austria. I have to thank my parents for my very metropolitan education, which is undoubtedly the foundation of my cosmopolitan mindset. Once I was 19, I went to the Styrian capital of Graz to start my studies in Law as well as Interpretation / Translation (for French and Italian). After the completion of my studies in Law and my practical year at court I had a brief encounter with politics: I stood as a candidate for the Styrian state elections. I enjoyed the fact that I was being supported by so many people from my hometown, however, I decided that people would benefit more from my juridical knowledge.
From 1992 to 1997 I worked as a jurist for the Tenants' Association in Austria for Styria, and got promoted to chairman of this organization in 1993. This occupation allowed me to gather vast juridical knowledge on the subject of tenancy. My interest for criminal law was sparked during the infamous trials of Jack Unterweger. I followed the trials closely and published my experiences on the subject later on in a book. Once I was already a self-employed lawyer, I wrote my dissertation on criminal law; with a critical examination of the Austrian system of jury trials.
It was in 1997 when I decided to make the transition from jurist to lawyer. I went to Vienna, where I worked for the law firm Dr. Alfred Pribik and later on for the law firm Dr. Markus Freund. In April 2000 I successfully completed the bar exam. One year later, I opened my own law firm in a small building on Himmelpfortgasse, that is actually a protected monument. Near to the wonderful Statpalais and the Stephansdom, it is a place where I enjoy working for my clients. What sets me apart from the rest: once I am convinced of a case, I will give it my all. After more than two decades of working with the law I can safely say - law is my passion!
